Common Nerve was built on a simple belief: healing works best when it feels real. No jargon you have to decode, no performance, no sugar-coating. Just honest conversations, grounded support, and a genuine human connection.
OUR MISSION
To offer clinically grounded counselling and training that honours each person’s lived experience, fosters resilience, and supports meaningful change—without losing sight of the humanity and humour that make the process livable.
If you’re looking for a place where you or your team can drop the mask, be honest about what’s going on, and do the work in a supportive, down-to-earth environment, you’ve found it.
Let’s start from where you are. Together, we’ll move toward where you want to be.
Common Nerve - The Journey
2018
-
We met as new-b counsellors, working at a non-profit as Concurrent Disorders Clinicians. A power-house working relationship and deep friendship began - the kindling of Common Nerve.
In 2019 we made the leap into private practice where we could support folks living with the legacy of complex trauma amongst other challenges.
2020
-
When the pandemic came crashing in and turned everything upside down, we saw something crystal clear: work and mental health are deeply connected—whether you have too much of it, not enough of it, or are just trying to survive it. As people lost routine, mobility, contact, and connection, we watched anxiety rise, depression deepen, isolation grow, and a whole lot of folks hit their breaking point.
It became impossible to ignore: Business IS personal.
And we felt called to meet people exactly where they were—not just in the therapy room, but in the real world where their stress was actually happening.
2023
-
Life got busy—in the best way possible! We both welcomed babies, and at the same time, doors opened that we just couldn’t turn down. We stepped into new roles teaching ethics as Adjunct Faculty at Adler University, and we launched a practicum program to help shape the next generation of counsellors.
These experiences deepened our passion for teaching, training, and supporting mental health and wellness in our communities.
But as we emerged from the postpartum haze, one thing became clear: Scott Sheere Wellness no longer fit. It wasn’t our vibe anymore. We needed a new identity—one with clarity, direction, and a stronger reflection of who we are and how we show up for our communities.
And so… the evolution continued.
2025
-
What started with a simple idea—reaching out to local small businesses to offer mental health support, trainings, and workshops—quickly grew into something bigger. Today, we partner with organizations of all sizes, helping teams navigate the human side of work with honesty, skill, and a whole lot of heart.
Because we believe how people show up in their lives shapes how they show up at work. And vice versa.
Common Nerve is about connection—to ourselves, to our workplaces, and to our communities.
And we’re honoured to walk into all of these spaces with you.
